    Actually there's no real need for a manual on/off switch but it is a nice perk. It actually came with the battery housing. It would prevent having a button accidentally push like you said or have the switch stick which would fry your atomizer and possibly start a little fire in your pants...

    The batteries on my drill weren't charged so I just used the little drill bit and cutting tool on my dremel to make the holes. The holes aren't clean and even like it would be with a drill but it worked okay.

    Yup, both units are direct connections to atomizers. Of course a battery tip connection would be much better in the long run but heck, these things go together in like an hour so when some batteries eventually die, I can easily swap these atomizers our for the battery tips or make up some more...
