    The threads are the same size/pitch as those used for mounting a power jack in a panel. In fact, if you go to RatShack and buy a 274-1583, it'll give you a nut to probably fix the threads with, and a size N connector that you can use for your first mod :).

    The outside pins (1 and 5) are the + and -. It's tough to describe which is pos and which is neg without a pic, and I don't have one. So, test continuity to find the appropriate end pins, cut the rest off, then plug it into power and use your DMM to figure out which one is which.

    Just got my order and have some questions.

    The heat thing I'd be worried about, but as far as the threads go, sometimes you have to unscrew/rescrew a few times to get the threads cut all the way.

    I quit as soon as my first kit came in, but I relapsed on Christmas Eve for a couple hours. Don't worry about it, quit when you're ready. Even cutting down greatly from where you were will help in the beginning.

    Some General Questions.

    My previous unit had auto batteries that activated when I fired up my motorcycle. I ordered a manual and an automatic with this kit (me and wife). Happily, her auto battery is not activated by my loud pipes. Looks like I'll be able to order autos! :) Your Mileage May Vary!
