    Suck at soldering? Try this.

Depending on how good of a glue it it, could be just the thing for gluing battery threads into various mods....

    How to make USB Passthrough?

Just remember that it'll read high. I'm not sure how you'd go about getting a meter calibrated - mine gets sent to the cal lab regularly as part of the job.

    How to make USB Passthrough?

No worries... when your brain is humming along at 500mph, it's easy to get flustered.

    Wire Gauge for Mods

He must be going for a REALLY high-voltage mod!! :D:D:D

    How to make USB Passthrough?

Nossir...the other way around. With the switch open, you should have an infinite reading - an open circuit. With the switch closed, it should read a short - 0 ohms. You might want to short the leads together and see what you get - as boondongle shows just above, sometimes a 0.4 ohm reading...

Testing the resistance of the entire mod

Not Kryptonite.... they're made of Unobtanium!!! :p

Testing the resistance of the entire mod

A calibrated, bench reference grade meter (probably somewhere around $1000) a calibrated power supply and a WHOLE lot more boredom than I have now. It's already been shown that the resistance of the various materials lie within the error range of the multimeter, so can we finally put this...

    How to make USB Passthrough?

Weird - all mine measure dead short - 0 ohms.

Testing the resistance of the entire mod

Now answer the question about how your Chuck vapes at 3.7 like anything else does at 6. If you think .17v (max) makes that much of a difference, I think you've got something besides nic juice in your atomizer.

    Wire Gauge for Mods

Cat 5 cable is usually 24 ga. I prefer stranded to solid due to the possibility of movement/vibration. Not a huge issue, I'm sure. It's also a bit easier to move parts around with stranded wire, if needed. I used the (admittedly) lightweight (probably 26-28 ga) wire that's part of the...

Homemade dremel vaporizer - Easy MOD for beginners + 510 smooth smoke info

Seeing as how I've worked with electronics and comm gear for about 25 years now, I'm pretty confident in my abilities, and so far as I know, Ohm's law still holds true. Is it a perfect 'under load' reading? Nope, and I never claimed it was. It *does*, however, suffice to give people an...

Homemade dremel vaporizer - Easy MOD for beginners + 510 smooth smoke info

Sort of hard to do any 'under load' measurements with an OEM 510 battery, wouldn't you say? ;) I can tell you that with my current nicostick using a TI voltage regulator, I get 5.02v regardless of loading.

The PVMA no more worries for batt connectors!

No problem, Dan - I couldn't figure out why the heck you were all over me for something that'd been said in so many threads... I wonder if it'd be possible to cobble in a MOSFET to your "switch in barrel" solution? God knows they're small enough. Pull power for source from the battery side...

The PVMA no more worries for batt connectors!

Ah, now I see the reason for the original post...I wasn't speaking to your 'switch in the barrel' solution - I was talking about the use of the lightweight switch in general.

The PVMA no more worries for batt connectors!

I think the best solution (as mentioned in the MOSFET threads) is to use those RS tact or .5A momentary switches to trigger a MOSFET. That way, the low-current switch isn't having to do the 'heavy lifting' of supplying the total current the atomizer draws. For those that don't care to do the...

The PVMA no more worries for batt connectors!

I've seen several references by Nuck, Cisco, Nicowolf and others. There's a *reason* for all the "will this switch work" threads. Seems like you're saying that only your experience is valid.

My first HV mod! But questions about 5v regulators.

Damn... that board pulls 3 amps to produce 1.6 amps at 5v?? Wow!!! And yes...VERY lucky it didn't go nuclear on him...
