New claims vaping leads to hard drugs

This quote explains everything: “We’ve worked very hard to reduce smoking in this country, and I think it’s been a fantastic success,” Denise said. With the introduction of e-cigs, “Now I think we’re on the verge of destroying all of the progress that we’ve [made].” It's not about the health...

E-Cigarettes rejuvenate tobacco smoker’s lungs: leaked study

I want so much to believe this. I have no doubt that if a study like that were conducted, we would see results like this... but... With no sources whatsoever, how do we know this is real?? Please someone prove that this is real? Pretty please?? I want to believe!!!

Banzhaf!! Wow, I haven't heard that name in years! :vapor: Well at least it looks like he's found more constructive uses of his time :D ha ha!

The Dangers of E-Cigarettes: Toxic Metals Exposed

The device they tested was the Ellips (I did spell that right, if I recall correctly). It's a European model. They only tested the one model, so it's quite possible the results will be different when other models are tested.

I'm experiencing cognitive dissonance with vaping

You are worrying too much imo, and how much is that going to accomplish? ;) It sounds like you're getting fed a lot of information and you're not sure what to do with it. You seem fully aware that at least some of it is BS, but you don't know how much, and you're getting worried. I am not...

The Dangers of E-Cigarettes: Toxic Metals Exposed

As far as the Medical News Today article is concerned, they both misrepresented and lied. They misrepresented when they said that chromium is found in concentrations 4 times higher than in cigarette smoke. The misrepresentation comes in the form of the convenient omission of the fact that it...

    Positive News Article

Agreed. The number of calls to poison control is often cited, whereas a more accurate statistic would be the number of deaths and/or severe illnesses resulting from e-liquid ingestion. The current total count is zero.

    kanger coil rebuild question

You may know ohm's law, but you do not understand resistance well. The equation you used originally to calculate resistance, by adding them, only works if your coils are in series, like this -- If you want your coils in parallel, like this = as they should be in a kanger coil, you need to...

Hi! what e cig should i start out with?

Hi rammstein! :) Love the name btw ;) All of this must be an overwhelming amount of information for you to soak in... If it were my first time I wouldn't understand a lot of what is in these posts... Back in 2009 I started off with a cigarette-like device (cigalike), then moved on to another...

8 years vape'n ready to go to next step - need advice

I have one question.... You've been vaping for 8 years, correct? And you started off by using an ego setup, correct? My question is... Where did you buy an ego in 2006???

A new study verifies the lower risk-potential of e-cigarettes but identifies an avoidable risk

I understand your reasoning. Personally I am not concerned about these few chemicals here and there in flavorings that may cause a health problem over time. For one thing, I smoked a pack a day for 18 years before this, so a little diacetyl doesn't concern me much. Secondly, if it is a big...

Dow chemical refusing to supply Propylene Glycol to e-cigarette industry

I wouldn't worry if I were you. Chances are they're cutting off individual companies one by one and they may not have cut yours off yet. If you have concerns you can email the company's customer support.

    Positive News Article

There is a lot of misinformation going around about the lethal dose of nicotine. Many who are writing about e-liquid cite a long-known "fact" about how much nicotine is required to be lethal, but this information is based on a very old study done in the 19th century that is extremely flawed...

    Positive News Article

I found this article more offensive than anything else, and obviously written by someone who doesn't know much of anything about smoking, let alone vaping. Sure, he comes out gentle on e-cigs, but the rest of the article is filled with factual errors and anti-smoker bias. I could write a...

A new study verifies the lower risk-potential of e-cigarettes but identifies an avoidable risk

I agree with what you said here, but the reality is that the industry is not there yet. The vast majority of e-liquid retailers are either not registered with an organization like ECITA or AEMSA or do not mention any independent testing on their website. If I, as a consumer, required...

WHO repeats false and misleading fear mongering claims about e-cigs, urges vaping bans everywhere

As I have said before, I am always willing to argue with people about this issue. Even if I don't change their mind, I will plant a seed of doubt. :)

    Buffalo area speak up!

TomGeorge, do you know if there are gatherings of Buffalo vapers outside this forum, online or offline? Perhaps that is where we should be going... I would like to hang out at my local vape shop, but being in such a small town it's usually just me and the person working there
