Yeah, I didn't mean SS threading to be involved in my resistance inconsistencies, just enforcing that the 510 connectors are quite different on the two devices (at least that's my experience). I reckon that cleaning the center pin can play a role, but believe me I almost removed the gold... -

Yeah, that's my impression too.. After a spin on a dna40, I'd say steamtuner's sleeve is still the way to go for nickel builds, I'd just have liked the possibility to use the sleeve _AND_ the newer spring though -

Mtek, I'd say JC is indeed slightly stiffer to spin, but not sure it's enough to allow a reliable use of JC as a real "modulator" instead of a binary on/off kind of thing, if that's what you have in mind :) -

It _is_ bigger. Got mine from SM yesterday and it slightly greater diameter, both the wire and the spring itself. So much that it doesn't fit in the sleeve I bought from steamtuners, so to use the new spring I have to remove the sleeve -
