It's done, I'm an idiot... My connector (from an old battery) had 2 plastic gromets (when you remove the center from the outer casing). I had put them back in the wrong order. Once I figured that out and put it back together the center of the connector now does not push back when connecting the...- jangler

This is my second mod. The first one is a bust (slobish solder messed it up). This time my solder was dead on, tested all contacts. The only different thing I did is run the momentary switch on the negative instead of the positive. I don't think that should matter. OK all the holes are...- jangler

any chance you can show us the guts? Very nice work, 401 is a b#t## and a half to mod, battery nut is so small and the hole has to be open for vent. I tried to mod that and failed due to that @#$@# air hole. How did you connect the + line, soder or mechanical connection?- jangler

BTW, I'm using a 4th brand new atty. I'm hoping this will last longer than the other 3. I'm curious, if there is a short, wouldn't it kill the atty's right away? The 3 that are cold functioned for some time before it stopped. -
