I would have to disagree. A few manufacturers, but not many. There aren't that many that are posting testing results. And after reading in this thread, without any kind of testing standard testing results seem to be pretty worthless.

If ANY tank system leaks the seal is broken somewhere. Missing or bad oring, bad coil head, something. A common problem is when a system is cleaned or refilled an oring gets lost or misplaced without realizing or an oring can get pinched and damaged preventing the tank from sealing properly...

Sounds like you don't have the switch assembled properly. Once assembled you are supposed to be able to rotate the button clockwise to lock or prevent it from firing, or counter clockwise to shorten the throw.
Yes it sounds like you will have to take it apart to reassemble it correctly...
