    I've been doing this as well Kent, except using a slim awl of sorts that came with a mini-screwdriver set. This, in my mind, saves the atty needle, and ensures I get a centered, controlled hole punched without a "hanging chad".

    Thanks Olde One - I love IPA for cleaning most things, using the purest I can find, but think I'll use Everclear 90. I think letting it set upright as you say...for 24 hrs or longer is key.

    ...it apparently was. Atty removed from battery, standing upright on end, with a tank of Freedom Smoke USA banana nut inserted overnight (overday actually), and burn smell/taste gone. Thank you banana nut juice and thank you FSUSA and thank you evaporation apparently.
