Howdy folks! I've missed you all. I'm a gazillion posts behind, so .................
Belated Happy Birthday Janet.
I've been watching that monster hurricane all week, and I've really been concerned about our porchers in Florida.
Just popping in briefly to say, Honeys I'm home!!
Thanks, Kenna. I do believe the uncertainty was killing me more than anything else. Once the change was made, I really started feeling better. It's going to be all right.
legs, I'm so sorry to hear this. Prayers going out to the family.
I go back to work on Thursday. I don't leave on Wednesday's anymore since I only have to drive an hour and a half. I leave on Thursdays around noon and get to Houma about 2. Then I check into my room and take a nap. Then about 3, it's off to work I go. The short drive has been nice.
I'm...
Funny story!! LOL
I've been sleeping pretty well lately. I just don't want to say that too loud....jinx anything, ya know.
Now, I've been up since 2am, but that's because I have a lot to do today and it was bouncing my brain. I'm working it today because tomorrow I'm not doing chit.
Speaking of horse stories. I love horses. Anyway, I went out to a friend's place to ride one of her horses. Oh, how I wanted to ride like the wind!!
Anyway, the stubborn buzzard just didn't want me to ride at all, much less gallop. He seemed to be more interested in hay and apples...
Oh, we don't. I was trying to thank the wench for cleaning my refrigerator, and she said, "Look, don't get all mushy on me." We are VERY irreverent with each other. For us it's the ultimate form of love.
My daughter and I don't do formal visits. I mention I'm cooking. She states she is coming to eat. She walks in and promptly takes a nap while I finish cooking. Then she takes out papers to grade while I serve myself. Then she eats, grades more papers, and then proceeds to clean my refrigerator...
How in the world did you wind up with all that mess in your house? You're a better man than I am a woman, because NONE of that would be in my house.
OH NO!!
I'm too far behind to even think about catching up. I hope that everybody is well. After ten days of working like a pack mule, I'm home. They can call me for overtime if they want to this week, but it's not happening.
We had an S92 that was hit by lightning on the flight line, so I was a...
I was at work at a small oil field parts supply company. We didn't have a television, but we had a radio. The bosses wife called and told us what was going on. We switched to the news talk station and couldn't believe our ears. I was stunned and because I couldn't see what was going on was...
Thanks, Janet. I'm going out for 10 days because I'm working over at another base covering for a parts person who wants to take time off. I need that OT money to do my living room floors.
I'm also going because I don't know how to say NO. Boss man told me I don't have to work the whole 11.5...
I'm so far behind that I don't know if I'll ever catch up, but I'm just popping my head in to let y'all know I am alive.
The new base has been a HUGE adjustment. Going from 4 helicopters to 24 helicopters is NOT for the faint of heart! I worked like a pack mule this past week. I am moving a...
I was hoping not either, but I certainly wasn't wishing it on anybody else.
I took a ride to my brother's place yesterday and it still looks like a war zone out there.
Before I head out to my first hitch at my new base, I want to put all our Florida friends in prayer and positive thoughts. I prayed for that stupid system to dissipate and go away, but it didn't happen. Y'all please keep safe and sound. If possible check in and let us know y'all are all right.
I had a very interesting experience yesterday. I was in the grocery store yesterday evening, and a lady that I didn't know asked me about a product I had in my cart.
We got to talking, and she was telling me that she had just been diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. Poor thing, she was scared...
