The base threads or the "stem" that screws in appears to be a bit shorter than the pt2 coil. I couldn't reassemble the tank with the pt2 coil in.
Sigh.
Quite sure both are authentic. The PT2 was given to me but does say Kangertech Mini Protank on it.
Seems to me it wasn't the chimney that was too long...it looked as though the end that screws in is a tad shorter than same spot on the PT2 coils I have.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head, Mikey. I checked and the tank is in fact a PT2 mini. Having said that, perhaps the airflow control is, like you suggested, an Aerotank...likely different coils. Poop.

I should've been clearer. What I meant was the same juices I buy from the B&M are lighter in colour straight off the shelf.
