    People using 500 mesh often go wider and roll their wicks tighter. Check out this thread and type 'zap' in the 'search thread' box above. By the way, you'd have to take out the insulator if you make those wide wicks. Most people use butane torches. I use my natural gas range myself.

    While I mostly use mods, the best I've seen happens to be an overpriced disposable, the Njoy King. It's really good, but not economical. You're probably best to consider the previously mentioned for now.

    You can overdo it causing the coil to burn into the mesh. I try to stick to a couple/few short bursts.

    Not much to add, they'll last a while. If you dry burn to clean the coil, don't overdo it or the coil can burn into the mesh creating hot spots. Just a couple quick pulses will clean the coil.

    I'd also get a slightly longer 2mm screw, maybe around 6mm long. As for twisting; by doing so you're cutting the resistance down by half, so keep that in mind. Otherwise, to get the same resistance of a single wrap, you'd have to double that if using the same wire as your single.
