    It has more 100 more holes per linear inch but probably not noticeably so I'm guessing. Most people have to hold it up to a light to tell the difference. According to 'bj43's (and 'emonty's) experiments, a solid core wick of 500 mesh has the best capillary action.

    If wet/damp it takes longer. If completely dry it should light up quickly.
