Nice, it'd be worth trying. It's good to have the coil closer to the air hole most def. If someone finds the correct screws/washers let us know, especially if you find them stateside. Might be worth to ask the video guy himself. -

Sounds similar to my setup 'emonty' but I start w/ a 30mm wick, same wraps/wire. On a side note, I hear of some complaining about the terminals, etc. getting gunked up. Every night I flush the tank out a few times w/ warm water (upside down) and it still looks as clean as the first day I got... -

Yeah, I think it comes down to the wire posts for the difference. Thanks for the updates, I may get some .15mm wire and try it, although my single .20mm is doing great. I wouldn't mind to take a shorter draw, and it seems that a twisted coil will give that. -

I think 'griz' from the other forum was getting 1.7ohms w/ a 4/3 wrap of twisted .15mm. That's a lot more wraps on your end. Maybe the wire posts contribute to the difference, or how it was twisted, or both? -

Do let us know which one you like best. From the other forum's thread on twisted coils; .10mm seems more mellow and .15mm looks like the winner. -

Don't know what can be added, but so far I only built two coils on the Orion and both worked well right out of the gate. I did have to tweek some shorts later on but that's because I bumped the coil. My last one has been going for five weeks or better. The only thing I did besides the quench... -

Hah, yes, but nowadays they have so many flavored, crazy papers. What happened to the good ole days of plain zig zags?! I just got the only plain/non flavored cig paper I could find, but yes, cig paper is cig paper. BTW, While I don't need this trick to make a successful coil, it sure has...- Turbo

I had a 3/2 on mine at first now that I think of it and liked it but soon went w/ a 4/3. Yeah, twisted coils would be worth trying but be careful how few wraps you use. A twisted .20mm coil about halves your ohm rating in what you get w/ a single wrap. You can try other gauges too like others... -

You're using a 2 wrap coil? Is that a 3/2 or 2/1?! 20 watts, wow! That's asking a lot of any wick I reckon. -

Posting here to follow. I was late receiving his PM but may hold out until I get 'brian' and 'jolly's thoughts compared to the Orion. It's my favorite mod and I want to see what they think before shelling out anymore money. It does look sweet though.
