BTW, I've been using my Provari since getting my Orion... for a battery level checker that is...lol
Don't get me wrong, love the 'vari for regulated voltage, nicely made, will keep it, but the Orion is my fav by far.
It's recommended to have a couple threads showing on the top nut; think I have more. Your switch sounds like it has juice in it... if so it'll probably get worse before better. You maybe should take it apart and inspect the switch; may be able to save it w/ an alcohol bath and adding some...
Ahh, bringing back fond memories. I wish I still had mine man! It started it all ;) I LOVE my Orion, which to me is an improved version of the Hybrid Mini, but w/ your mods above the gap is closed. Nice job!
1) 30mm wide. I slightly pinch the top; don't know that it's necessary but I don't overwick..
2) Twisted coils offer lower resistance giving more warmth/vapor by the looks of it. I'd use a thin gauge like the one Les included.
3) I use a 4/3 wrap like 'emonty' of 32g kanthal. If you...
Pretty much as 'blu' said. The guy who did that said he had his dremel on the lowest setting and spun it for about one second. It is pretty no doubt.
I plan to try this when I need a new coil. In the meantime, my coil is nicely broken in and clean. I've been flushing the tank out each...
Is that using the wire Les provided or 32g kanthal? I imagine at 32g and 3 wraps the resistance would be too low. What is the resistance of his wire? I remember seeing that question on another forum..
Les (the maker) gets back from vacation in August sometime. For the now the list moved to another forum since the old UK site went down. It's yet to be seen where he'll end up operating.
In the meantime look at the classifieds here. They've been popping up for sale lately.
I was going to order a stiff draw cap for my ZAP but see they're out of stock (should've ordered sooner). Any idea how long it'll be for these to be back in stock?
Sounds great, yeah, those in emergency should get first cracks, glad to hear you'll be getting it. Do let us know once you have it installed how things are working.
How long did it take yours to visibly leak?
Glad to hear you're getting one! I wonder what he meant by glue issue? I'll have to get some extras in case, guess he's giving priority to people w/ problems, which is the way it should be. Let us know how things turn out once you get back and have the switch on for a while.
Could be. I emailed him and he got back right away saying to contact him in a few weeks. Could be because I wanted extra and don't have a problem that he told me that. It's worth a shot for those in a bind to PM him I reckon.
If the look at the picture I posted it's the o-ring right on/below the white insulator. The guy who added that in the picture had the extra insurance but still got a leak. He said the o-ring on top stopped it, but the damage was done to his switch so he's waiting on another.
I'm also hoping I...
I hate to hear that man.... when cleaning doesn't work, there are some solder points that may be able to be fixed. I can't remember where I saw it; on this thread or the old UK site. I'll try to find it after supper sometime.
The guy who makes the switches, 'pailpoe', is out on vacation for...
What 'ross' said. I wonder too if the bolt not being tight is what's causing it, now that you mention it. Might be as some are having this issue while other's are not.
On another forum a guy did add another o-ring on top and said it solved the leaking (attached his photo). Notice his has the...
Yeah, but I think 90 degrees is alright, that puts my thumb on the side. Most of the time I can take a drag in w/ the button on the bottom and airhole to the side. As you know, when they get low it's best to have the airhole facing down to saturate the wick so I'll rotate my hand when needed...
