The liquid that you used to "STOP" smoking!

The one juice that truly got me to quit smoking completely is Indo Tea made by Easy Vapes (a Dutch company). When I started vaping I first tried out tobacco like flavours but as soon as I took my first drag of Indo Tea I was sold and knew I could stop completely. Fast forward to 2.5 years later...

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

I asked whether or not someone can sue Provape if they put a disclaimer on the site that says altering the firmware can be unsafe and at your own risk. That was a question about the legal culture in the US, not a question about Provape and this is your reply. But anyway, what you say is the...

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

ASML (a Dutch company) is the most advanced and largest manufacturer of lithography systems in the world. The ARM chip in the P3 is more likely than not made on a machine designed and built by ASML. You could say the P3 only functions the way it does because of the Dutch :pervy:

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

Okay, just so I understand this correctly. Suppose Provape opens up the firmware for those who like to tinker and puts up a warning that doing so can be unsafe and is at your own risk, someone can still sue them if they get hurt? Is that how it works in the US?

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

The WhiteoutOS will be released soon which according to the makers is open source so it would be silly to spend time and effort on developing something myself if that does everything I want.

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

There's a fundamental difference of opinion here that cannot be bridged. I am a big proponent of free, open source software, whether it's an OS like GNU/Linux or firmware for a PV and I believe it's the responsibility of the user to use it safely and not have rules, can and cannots dictated tot...

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

Of course not but that's a different matter. The safety of the system and the privacy of the users depends for a large part on iOS being closed source. We're talking about an e-cig here, an simple electronic device that doesn't store any personal data.

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

Why do they care if someone wants to alter some things like for instance up the wattage limit? You bought the device so you should be able to do with it what you want. You own it.

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

I don't think the problem of hacking is as big as Provape wants to believe. How many of you would buy a clone made by some guy in China who hacked the firmware and put it in his clone? And it still is no reason to not do user upgradeable firmware. Just look at TomTom for example. People have...

    SXmini M Class (TEMP CONTROL)

Does it really matter? As soon as you buy a regulated mod it's already out of date. It's like we're buying graphics cards.

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

Of course it's related. I just pointed out that by not allowing the customer to update the device they could very well be acting against their mission statement. What if the money saved counter could convince a large number of dual users to give up smoking completely but they can't afford the...

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

It is a valid point. You see, Provape says its mission is to help people quit smoking. Something like the money saved counter introduced in the latest update can be a very big incentive for people who just started using the P3 to give up smoking altogether. However, Provape charges for the...

Because the algorithm probably uses that resistance as a starting point for TC.

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

But you're forgetting dealers have to buy the programmer. Provape doesn't provide it free of charge. But you're on the same continent. That makes it cheaper to ship it to Provape if there's no local dealer to carry out the upgrade. Yet you claim with the P3 Provape targets 90% of vapers who...

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

On a serious note, I wonder how many P3's Provape has sold outside the US? I can imagine not being able to update it yourself has been a deciding factor to not buy it for people in other parts of the world. I don't think there are a lot of overseas dealers with a ProVari programmer and sending...

    Why no user upgradable firmware?

It's not an optical connection. The cable used is a serial cable. The pin on the end that screws into the bottom of the P3 makes contact with the battery connection on the board. The battery connection doubles as a data port. There are other ways of protecting IP than having to resort to a...

Best gourmet ejuice vendors #2 - The journey continues!

I ordered some Grape Ape concentrate from Mom & Pop. Banana and grape is right up my alley, I just hope it tastes good.
