Do you know if ceramic acts the same way? I know its different fusion but I wonder about surface fractures and flaking. Some people are using fused quartz instead of pyrex- does it follow suit ?
I'm confused. I understand how its possible to create a setup without oxidizing the wick but I thought I heard Del say that shorts don't matter with this pv in particular? Did I hear that right and if so- How?and without protection? Maybe I'm halucihearing.
Love Frisky Dingo by the way! Yeah the whole encapsulated coil has been discussed pretty thoroughly. New ideas are always considered-or at least I think they are. The discussion has fractured into three parts.
The original insulation "sleeve" idea-refer to page 1
The contained coil or "fuse"...
Do I need to surf the latest posts more often or is there a way to stay updated with inovation that is simpler? I'll do my homework but I like cliff notes.:-D
High Temperature Adhesives and Epoxies, Ceramics, Insulation, Epoxies and Epoxy
not sure how thick these are but could probably use one of these in a similar fashion as the enamel idea too. Note that one of these is conductive.
99% Alumina Ceramic Round Tube, 0.063" ID, 1/8" OD, 12" Length: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific
The od is actually 3.175 mm and id is 1.6 mm- my bad- just eyed it with a ruler. ALSO I forgot to mention earlier-Thanks Dan! Great Idea and I love your work. Still waiting to see how the...
Hey modders! Just finished sett ing up the Scuba-Q ceramic version on a mini DUD. Its 32g 3/4 wrap/2.5 ohm kanthal A1 coil around a 4mm long section of 3mm od/2mm id nonporous ceramic "sleeve" with a tight fitting solid 500 ss mesh. The "sleeve" is located 2mm above the wick hole with 2mm of...
Great Links!...I have read many similar statings. I find it interesting to note that NaCl inhilation may increase bacterial reproduction by inhibiting antibacterial agents in our respiratory systems. I was considering using it as a flavor enhancer and wetting agent but will most likely refrain...
Thanks everyone- I've since found out from suppliers that Xylitol powder is 100% pure. No gums or fillers. I want to try this product simply for its beneficial properties. It's reported to prevent tooth decay by basing out acids that cause enamel erosion. It also avoids dehydrating the consumer...
Yeah the porous stuff would be a PITA but the stuff I have is like porcelain. I would compare it to the ceramic cups that are already used in alot of atomizers. It doesn't absorb liquid. Its extremely hard! I don't have diamond to score it with so I've got to wait to test- sorry folks:facepalm:I...
I bet a ceramic powder coating would work well on a coil once its formed...kinda like the enameling. Gonna do some surfing on home techniques.
BTW I got a 12" length of noporous ceramic today (3mm od 2mm id .5mm wall) I'll let ya'll know how it goes.
I tried this some time back when i first started using rba's...It works but tastes funny. I however did not give it much time to break in before I scrapped it. I thought the baking soda was the reason but on second thought it probably just needed to season more.
