I would think that for our purpose a quartz powder would be best. I have no enameling experience though so that may just be too simple. I've read about technique that bridges wiring so it can be done, just not certain its possible with torch.
yeah graphite conducts electricity (ie) carbon fiber ...I really got into the sapphire idea. I wonder if there are enamel powders made from sapphire or quartz. I have a source for both in tube form but not enameling powder.
Is there something about it I don't know? I would never use a syrup or anything with gums in it as I've read about the negatives of inhaling gums. I have no problems with using the other sweeteers, I think. I wanted to know about Xylitol because it reportedaly has added health benefits. Not...
That stuff couldn't possibly have a glass enamel on it...could it? How could it be bent without cracking the glass, I wonder. I would feel safer forming the coil first and then coating it...then annealing it
Check this fact Annealing (glass) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Theres got to be enamel out there without pigment. As usual we should dig up some facts but it looks really doable. I agree that only the coil need be coated and you wouldn't even need to coat it much at all to isolate the wick. 28 gauge would last longer and probably be easier to handle while...
I am new to DIY but really interested in it! I have been vaping for some time now and I'm happy to say-100% free of smoking. I have delved ito RBA's and love the tinkering and hobby aspects of vaping. It's not only been healthy for the body but for the mind as well! I've always been fascinated...
I use the miniDID with fill hole plugged and lay it on its side repeatedly with no leaks. When I used the cheaper atty's I had to leave the fill hole unplugged for some reason or else it dried up and I would get leaks on its side. I honestly dont know what the dif may be. I used a small center...
I've put a hold on any orders for fused quartz tubing until I hear more. An email has been sent to the suppliers technical team with design specs and an explanation of use. Thanx for the input all. I had not contemplated that all fused quartz was not created equal and while some may be in use...
I was also entertaining that approach but with thermeez. I'm not sure about the toxicity of bonded putties though and was looking for a purer seal. Thanx for the input- I'm off to bed and dreams of quartz tubing:closedeyes:
