    How old is your reo? Might be time to replace the contact on it.. have a spare at all so you could send it in to replace the contact? At least you can try cleaning the positive contact.. you can also try removing the negative spring and clean the hole and screw threads and re assemble.. could...

    No problem! You'll ensure you'll have no leaks taking that option to send it in as they will add ( a little liquid teflon I believe it is) to the threads if the nipple to seal the connection from leaks.

    Nice.. mine was the first release hammertone as well and figured there was a issue with the pain job and now I know I was right and its wide spread. I've had 2 other hammertoes and never had an issue with it as I think it's the strongest finished offered.
