I think that's happening because of the number of wraps you're using. I NEVER get spitback from staples or stagger fuses unless they're huge in gauges or they have too many wraps. Too much coil requires too much power leading to too much ramp time. Try making out some 5-6 wrap staples, say, 6-8x...- Tom Forde

Yeah half staggering isn't hard, you just line everything up and make sure the wraps are perpendicular to the core wire and spin the drill. Staggering gets hard however when you incorporate skip staggers and full frame SSFC's that don't want to cooperate with you. Try using some 28g with .3r...- Tom Forde

Yeah 26/8ply .4 will ohm out low. I'd advise using ka1 ribbon or a mix of ka1 ribbon & a couple ply n80 ribbon. Try with 28g & .3r. It might be harder but requires way less power. Yep seems like you got it. I don't like doing it with 36g too much because sometimes it can be too thick/won't want to move on the core much. If that happens, loosen it up by holding the end of it and revving the drill in reverse until it starts to back up on itself and you're able to move it...- Tom Forde
