Ah the alien staggerton. I haven't gotten around to making it. But maybe I'll try next week. I (finally) have some 316L coming in & I figure why not try out some new things with it. 250ft of 26&28g, 100ft 27g & 500ft of 36&38g. Look at the wrap. 3 strands of 40g para clap'd for the decored Clapton & then stretched/alien's over a fraple core. That's what interlocking is. It's not a twisted alien, as the 3 strands of 40g are all wrapped individually (untwisted) over the original Clapton. What, you mean like with a...- Tom Forde

Well I was thinking add 2x .3 to each side (4 total) and skip staggering them, then adding one piece of 2x2 square to half frame it and fusing that to everything else. But idk. It's a lot of work and I'm lazy. I did make a triple 40g interlock over 28/8x .4 though. They've been vaping so well...- Tom Forde

I'm blank on ideas on how to finish this off. It's basically spaced groove fused every 3 wraps so I can hypothetically add two more groove fuses. But I have no clue as to what I want to do to finish it. Any ideas are helpful at this point, it's just been sitting unfinished attached to a swivel...- Tom Forde

If you reverse the drill to take the natural twists in the wire out you risk loosening up the wrap. You don't actually need to untwist anything until you wrap your coil. When I do 3 core aliens the 2 side wires will helix with the wrap around the center wire. I just leave it as is and when I go...- Tom Forde

I used 24g for the 28/10x .4 core. 26 for 28/8x .4 Edit: however, just finishing the 28/8x .4, I'd recommend using 25g. Maybe it was just the 40g I was using as the wrap but it's a super tight fit and 25g may give some extra leeway & be a little easier. Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk- Tom Forde

Looks great Slip, what did you use for the decored Clapton? 24g? 25g? I definitely didn't use 28g for this even though its got 10ply .4 cores and 28g frames. Nope, it was just the first time I tried a 40g interlock. I made a second set with 10ply .4/28g frames and the spacing came out much closer. But it looks good & performs pretty well spaced apart too. Don't you mean Half Moon? This is the one K24 deck I will not use my slam cap on. I may try out the Grizzly Sleeve & chubby Kupcake though. I've been switching between a half moon acrylic & SS fat dragon tip on my 2 post. I haven't gotten any problems with either getting too hot & my builds... -
