Mines charges up to exatcly 4.2v. Can't say how safe 4.24 volts would be but higher voltages = less cycle life.

I see you have a good choice of gear. Most new vapers tend to buy crap and get recommend crap also, which I do not agree with.
Is the firing button sticking? if so you will need to polish it. I haven't used a noisy criket, but in my mech days, polishing firing buttons for smooth operation was the norm.
I can't speak for other Canadians but they are my go to websites. They do have the cheapest prices I have seen in Canada. Most the flavor brands on those sites are well known and used, some of them I never heard of though.
