    I would think that for our purpose a quartz powder would be best. I have no enameling experience though so that may just be too simple. I've read about technique that bridges wiring so it can be done, just not certain its possible with torch.

    yeah graphite conducts electricity (ie) carbon fiber ...I really got into the sapphire idea. I wonder if there are enamel powders made from sapphire or quartz. I have a source for both in tube form but not enameling powder.

    Theres got to be enamel out there without pigment. As usual we should dig up some facts but it looks really doable.     I use the miniDID with fill hole plugged and lay it on its side repeatedly with no leaks. When I used the cheaper atty's I had to leave the fill hole unplugged for some reason or else it dried up and I would get leaks on its side. I honestly dont know what the dif may be.     I was also entertaining that approach but with thermeez. I'm not sure about the toxicity of bonded putties though and was looking for a purer seal. Thanx for the input- I'm off to bed and dreams of quartz tubing:closedeyes:
