Yep, unscrew it from the tube. If it's really dirty and stuck, spray with some penetrating oil.....let it set for a while and then unscrew it. After you get the switch off, clean it really good with denatured alcohol....then: Use a small amount of JB Quik and attach an old carto or... -

It's easy to make a dome into a flat....not so going the other way. By making the domed shape both can get what they want. One just needs a little work while the other doesn't. Yea....just got an email from my son; he survived going into and out of Lukla. CaptSteve would enjoy the flight but... -

Imeo did the hex shape top as an aid in removing it (hex wrench), but we don't have any real issues taking a round top apart. Even if someone REALLY overtightens the round it's not a big deal to get it off. Imeo was just making it as easy as possible; plus the different shape is kinda... -

Brass Buttons almost ready
They fit. 5.5mm o/d have plenty of space, 5.9mm are really close but have clearance, and the 6.0mm don't have enough clearance for me. Any dirt or debris can jam them in the tube. -

....do what Rip sez. Look at the threaded section of the base There are 4 holes (3,6,9,12 o'clock). Make sure they are thoroughly cleaned so air flow isn't restricted. Buying used usually means you have to do a complete cleaning of the device so while you are at it disassemble... -

Minus 60 bucks on the price is FAIR; if he is sincere about making it right he'll do the refund. Hope it all gets worked out; it's a great device and will deliver for a long, long time. It's just a shame you have to go through all the aggravation, but do what you gotta do.
