Yes, it takes some work to mod the ceramic and prep the 116 wick, but it's like courting a fine woman.....the resulting sex is worth the effort. JMO -

Keep the ceramic wet to cool the burr and move the cuttings out of the way. It cuts really easy so there's not much that can go wrong....just line up the burr with the existing channel, use the lowest speed on the Dremel, and almost no pressure. The burr does all the work. I used a small... -

Modding the ceramic with a cylinder diamond burr worked perfectly. In order to keep the knurled wheel's threads from cutting the 116 wick, it has to lie far enough into the ceramic that they don't hit it. That size burr cut a deep and smooth half round receptacle; just right for the 1/16"... -

Wick and Wire Guidelines (?)
I use the silver NR wire and it works just fine. The two R wires I use are .16mm and .20mm kanthal. With the Ody's large ceramic there's plenty of room to make higher resistance coils so the gauge wire isn't as much of a factor as with other devices. What resistance coils are you thinking you... -

Good way to put it.... Speaking of ohm testers; I had a compartmented box FULL of atomizers all sorted by resistance and knocked the damn thing off the table. It is such times as this when a auto-tester comes in handy; I can't imagine how long it would take to probe each one. lol -

I think you nailed the solution..... If you look at the entire mechanism it's one big set of threads; inside and outside so the total area is at least twice the actual dimensions...that's quite to get clean. When I examined the black marks under magnification it was very tiny metal...
