    The Nuck 2000!

ummm... That sounds like a variation on The Puck. The Nuck 2000 being an ear/nose hair trimmer, running on 2 cr2 batts, and The Puck being a 4 aaa batt box mod using 4 aaa NiMh batts.... My variation of The Puck uses aa NiMh batts

The Bar Fly - a new direction

I wanna see the zippo mod, but that site keeps telling me to see the pics I need to complete a survey to prove I'm human , but the survey is signing up for a game site? Anybody have those pics or a link to another place they're posted?

    Best paint for mods?

Ok, so the mod I'm making this week is going to require a piece of painted PVC pipe. The buttons will be mounted on the piece, so I need a paint that will stick to PVC, not be tacky to the touch, not wear away quickly with exposure to e-liquid, and (because I'm impatient) dry quickly... I've...

My newest mod... OR My take on 'the Puck'...

Yeah, my epoxy's on the bottom of my atty connector, and I probably do need to add some more. When I make another one, I will use the other side of the box... I considered recessing my connector, but I wanted my button closer to the top then the middle. So, my next version, led and atty...

Video - New 2x14500 5v White Oak Wood Mod

B-E-A-utiful mods man! I've been wondering for while if I could find wooden batt boxes, because even if I did have the woodworking tools, and I don't, there is no way I could make anything that looks half as good as that... I really like that gold washer under the atty, too.... Just a...

How do you organise your stuff?

I just moved, so all my e-cig stuff (attys, mixed juice, carts, ect.), DIY e-liquid stuff, and modding stuff (including a bunch of non-related junk I either just wanna take apart or see if I can make a PV out of) is all spread out in 6 different boxes. So, to find any one thing, I have to go...

    measure voltage

No offense to Attypops, his was a very, very good technical description, but I only just understood it enough to follow along because of all the electronic jargon I've picked up over the last 2 weeks, learning how to do all this stuff... This is the best way I could explain in to someone with...

My newest mod... OR My take on 'the Puck'...

I re-tested with fresh batteries and get 4.06 under load... I don't remember if the other reading was just before I charged my good set, or if it was with the 'backup' set that's been sitting in a drawer for about 5 years. I only got about 3-4 hrs on the backups, vs. well over 80 hrs on the...

    My new hobby!

Hi ______. Would you like to share with the group? You're with friends here... Heh... But seriously, definitely a worthwhile hobby, but if you have any electronics know-how, let me warn you now, do not start modding! That will become an addiction very quickly. I hardly have time to do anything...

    LED voltage meter

I had to do ALOT of searching on ebay, finally found someone selling the S1 model (the S2 models will ONLY work for multiple batts) with the led readout instead of the buzzer, out of hong kong, so I gotta wait awhile to get it through the mail...

My newest mod... OR My take on 'the Puck'...

I honestly don't know, I know they're not getting hot, and they were still going after well over 80 hours of super heavy vaping, I charged them last night and they all took a charge. If I am shortening their overall life, then I would consider it worth the sacrifice to replace them every couple...

USB Passthrough Question - Easy answer I hope

The load in this case is the led and the atty... That's just some basic battery info showing the flow of current is from - to +... (Not a problem man, I'm learning as I go here too.... Question anything you don't understand, that's the way to learn...)

My newest mod... OR My take on 'the Puck'...

Ok, so I thought whilst waiting on the slow boat from China to bring my 18650 charger and 10440 batts, and waiting on inspiration to hit on housings for my 18650s, I would go ahead and build a Puck mod to run on NiMH batts, of which I have a couple of sets of 4, and keep around as a backup that...

510 PCC/car charger redesign? Also, voltage help

I don't have one of these, so I would need to know what it says on the label on the bottom of the charger, specifically the 'Input:' field. If it only lists 110-240V AC, then wiring straight into the car wiring will not be nearly as easy, as you would have to wire an inverter in alongside it...

    Why do they fail?

People usually have problems with underrated switches. If not being used with a mosfet, most recommend a 3A switch, as smaller switches tend to burn out and need replacement... Using a sealed connector like Demon said, and an overrated switch or a mosfet with an underrated switch, shouldn't...

USB Passthrough Question - Easy answer I hope

From HowStuffWorks Batteries: Electrons collect on the negative terminal of the battery. If you connect a wire between the negative and positive terminals, the electrons will flow from the negative to the positive terminal as fast as they can (and wear out the battery very quickly -- this also...

USB Passthrough Doesn't Work - WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!

Idk either, I just made one of these last week for my roommate with led and 3A switch, his runs fine on computer and on his Iphone chargers.... tryed a different port? I know on some computers 1/2 the usb ports are 1.1 (Idk if this can put out enough amps) and 1/2 are 2.0 (which I know puts out...

USB Passthrough Doesn't Work - WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!

and if you're using a wall adapter it really needs to be 1.5A or greater, a 500mA - 1A charger adapter will not vape well, if at all.... Ah should be printed on the back of the plug, usually below Vin [110-240V ac] and Vout [5V dc]...

USB Passthrough Doesn't Work - WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!

try using a different switch if you have one? if it's a .5A switch it may have burned out?, or maybe it was defective to begin with? just trying to eliminate possibilities....
