    Roger, that 2nd quote is incorrect. It is safe for ingestion - there is no known PEL for heated/vapor exposure, ie, in a manufacturing facility. It may interest you to know that the FDA has diacetyl under review now for the GRAS list as well - so soon it may not be considered safe to even ingest.

    To the contrary, I was one of the original fangirls. Then I made the unforgivable mistake of asking for disclosure in re: diacetyl. It's nobody's loss, really, I'm one out of thousands who are more than happy to keep ordering.
