I don't really complain all that much but you will find more then one post of mine cussing about batteries from china. They lie about there crap and now you even got to worry about counterfeits. One of the reasons my mod rolls with 18650 batteries made in Japan or Korea. But with 14500 you...
Yeah i can duplicate that in Geda if you dont want to mess with it. PCB programs have a big learning curve, at least for me they do. What goes on the bottom in the middle there is a couple pads not going to anything?
Tobacco has the highest Nicotine content of the nightshade family. But yes other plants could be used like , tomatoes , potatoes , peppers and so on. Might need a huge amount though to make some nic. Just grow your own tobacco you can grow quite a bit of it for your own personal use. Seeds can...
Makes sense, I kinda doubt there is a footprint for it already. If you have a data sheet of the part i can make one tonight i have to make some other footprints for my project so i could just add it to the list.
Edit : Here is a site with footprint search engine

Yeah i roll in Linux these days. Free gerbers is a plus also. But if you have used it before it shouldn't be too tough. Might want to try out the Newest Linux Mint it is awesome. Let me know if you need any help in Geda or if you need any footprints i kinda doubt it , maybe that 3 pin connector...
What export options does pad2pad have? never used it before. I might have to redo it in Geda to be able to make it. Cant really see whats going on with the bottom layer would need a clearer picture of that if i have to redo this in Geda. Since it is so small i would have to do 2 or maybe 4 at...
Check out this thread has some simple tests to run on this chip.

They will heat up if it is always on. If wired up like bigblue does it , switch on the power wire before it gets to pin 2 the reg on turns on when vaping or pressing the power button. The reg wont heat up very much at all. My guess is maybe yours is wired up with the switch on the output or pin...
I just make my own boards since you have to pay out the @$$ if you just want a few made. Any kinda small order and your looking at 50$ per a board is the cheapest i have seen. If your just wanting a couple i might can help you out next time i do some etching.
The diagram you posted looks like it needs a ground going from the battery to strip 3 or pin 3. LED might need a resistor to keep it from frying itself. Looks good besides those two things i believe.
Thats actually how i planned on doing it from the start. You still run into mixing up single cells if using one charger. Really i would rather charge in series then parallel for dual batteries i think it is much safer. A dedicated charger per a battery would work fine for single cells. But then...
Wow 22 bucks almost makes me want to buy one. Good thing they are backordered or i might have hit the buy now button. Not sure if they get you on shipping though. Another place had it for 40 bucks and change.

When i first started looking for a 8.4 volt charger i thought the same thing. Even if they don't balance kinda figured they would at least have a voltage sense lead for the middle of the pack. But MicroChip is not alone No one seems to offer that, TI linear, national and the list goes on. I think...
I am going to use some of these. FDS6679AZ Fairchild Semiconductor MOSFET PowerThey are protected agaist static shock up to 6kV. CraigHB point them out in another thread. Going to be another part needed if you plan on using this touch sensor with a P Channel besides what Dan has for the...
Pretty sure there is a typo on the data sheet. I believe that 4 volts input should have been a 9 volts. Unless this chip somehow boosts there is not way 5 volts from USB will charge 2 li ions to a final voltage of 8.4 volts. I have worked with some of there other chips and usually for a 2 li...
Yeah i think thats what the ego's and all the knock offs run is some sorta PWM. It does work for stacked cells too but the switching modules i have been using are really stable , I think i get a more consistent vape off them. Sure they cost more but you get a really finely tuned module in a...
Here is a thread about using the 555 as a PWM http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/194095-my-first-pulse-width-modulator-mod.html
I tried out the last circuit posted in the thread , but The one i posted in here seemed to give me a much wider duty cycle i could go from 20% to 100%...
Yeah you can hurt just about anything electrical by heating it up too long while soldering. Data sheet has this to say about soldering the module ,
Soldering Guidelines
Murata Power Solutions recommends the specifications below when installing these converters. These specifications vary...
This 555 PWM is what i had the best luck withDPRG: A Simple PWM Circuit Based on the 555 Timer. For sure the pot could be replaced with a resistor when you Know the duty cycle you like the best.
