What device are you using? Just curious if its a cigalike or better since 12mg in a cigalike is weak but in an ego/clearomizer setup its good. Also are you drawing into your mouth or straight into your lungs? Nicotine in vapor is absorbed thru your mouth or nasal passages mainly.
Just...
I had a similar issue but figured out that for some reason it stopped wicking properly and burnt the wick which I didn't think was possible. Assuming they used some low grade silica I rewicked and haven't had an issue since.
At higher volts it sucks up more juice but sure does taste good. I like top coil warm vape so crank my protanks up. Haven't used vv in awhile but keep protanks at 9w generally with a 34g twisted 1.5ohm coil ATM. Did the lower resistance so it would work well on my mech.

SVD and protank work well together just like a protank on any vv/vw device. SVD is a solid apv and quite big in 18650 mode. SVD or SS vamo would be good choices either will work well but would spend the extra $ for the SVD personally.
Well looks like you are using an octopus rda which if its stock doesn't work very well. I assume you wrapped your coil above the airhole also check to see if there is a buildup of liquid in the airhole which can cause issues.
Ry4 made me feel like I was smoking, alsways had to have a bottle of it the first few weeks and even now would hate to be without it but have been off the analogs long enough to not want to smoke again.
Nice job the mod, battery vent holes is a concern for.me aswell. As thrasher said a rubber one way valve would.probably be the best way about it.
Edit didnt see your post on the bottom plug sounds like you have a good build
