I've been watching the NYS legislative pages carefully PapaBloog, both the Senate and the Assembly, knowing this bill has been proposed for both houses. When I discovered earlier today that the bill was on Tuesday's agenda for the Assembly Health Committee, I checked the Assembly rules, and sure...
Hairball, I started a thread about this tonight, because this is on the Assembly Health Committee meeting agenda for Tuesday, 1/25! The post has details of who to call and email and fax.
Please go there...
Please do Dee.
You must have some friend or relative you can be concerned for in NYS?
A PS, not to Dee, but to all: It would be good idea to say we do support the ban on sales to minors, but want Section 2 deleted (in substance).
The bill is on the agenda again. Assembly Health Committee meeting Tuesday, 1/25. Please see this thread I started about it, and take action to help fight it if you possibly can! Thanks...
Please take a look at the thread I started here, and take action if you possibly can.

I will be back with the list of Senate Health Committee members in due course, but we have a little more time to deal with that committee. And mailed letters will really be the ideal for them.
The New York State Assembly Health Committee has A01468 on its meeting agenda for this coming Tuesday, 1/25, at 12 noon. If the bill is favorably reported out of committee, it will then go to the full Assembly for a vote - where the identical bill passed unanimously last year! It did not become...

Addis, it wasn't simply a vaper who went to Savannah, it was ECF forum member Vocalek, who is also Elaine, our CASAA board Vice President! :) CASAA also sent a formal and detailed critique in opposition to this legislation's inclusion of ecigs in the Savannah smoking ban, along with a large...
Jimho, yes that section 2 of the proposed legislation is the only real problem. However, you left out the part of it that is the real issue:
"PRODUCTS CONTAINING OR DELIVERING NICOTINE INTENDED OR EXPECTED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION THAT ARE NOT TOBACCO PRODUCTS, AS DEFINED IN SECTION THIRTEEN...
Schadoe, you really should read any statute that you post about, especially if you are posting erroneous suppositions as to what it covers as if they were factual, and therefore misleading others.

I'd suggest that you do ask your regular doctor too. I have atherosclerosis, and peripheral vascular disease. Essentially blocked arteries in my legs. My vascular surgeon was delighted that I was vaping instead of smoking. Yes, nicotine has effects on the circulatory system, but some doctors...
Yeah, but there are competing news stories too. Who is to say which one is more accurate?

Yeah, but he certainly doesn't characterize that as a loss in re: ecigs. And he couldn't!
For as Bill G. has often pointed out, Sharfstein was the engineer of the infamous summer 2009 FDA press conference that spread so many lies about ecigs to the entire world.
Thanks for the vote of confidence D. But I do agree with your earlier post about the daunting nature of the requirements for approval as either a "new" tobacco product, or for showing "substantial equivalence".
Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying there aren't potentially huge hurdles still...
