    It looks to me like the protection worked like it was suppose to. It shorted and happened to melt the thin outer wrapper, but it prevented the cell from thermal runaway which could cause venting or explosion.

    One thing I wish people would list when they describe juice is what voltage battery and what Ω atty they are using. Several of my favorite juices taste great at say 6-7 watts, but lose/change flavor at higher wattage.
