    I never got more than a day out of an atomizer using 2 cr-123's in series. Like you, most of the time it was 2 seconds. Drop a 4000 series diode in your mod. It only drops the voltage by .5-.7v, but it works for me..i'm on week 4 of 2 atty's i rotate and they're still going strong, knock on wood.

    You could rinse everything out with distilled water (non corrosive) and dry on low heat with hair dryer or put it in rice as stated above.
