All high voltage kits are now coming with Joye 510 HV5 high resistance atomizers.

I never was a fan of 6v. With these new attys, its the exact same vapor production as 3.7v with a LR atty, same heat consistency (atty doesn't get extremely hot!!!) but even better liquid flavor. I am super happy with it, and I would definitely recommend at least giving it a try.

+1 above. That is exactly how it works.

new & LOST on the RES part

Yes we almost need to redo the manuals that come with the units. Blowing through the atty to push the liquid down into the RES is the easiest way to do it, by far. Like I said in a different thread, each person has their sweet spot, it just takes a little time for each to figure theirs out. I'm...

Apex Vapor Alpha Information Page; Have Questions, Concerns, Suggestions, New Product Requests, or Want to Ask N8T the Alpha engineer a question? Post

Killjoy1 has it exactly right. The liquid gets stored in the microscopic pores of the ceramic. When you take a drag off the unit, it forces air through the holes in the top of the RES. It moves through the ceramic and pushes the liquid out of the pores and down to the bottom where it moves...

Good to hear its working for you now. A word of caution. If you do not have an atomizer attached do not push the battery contact too far up or it will push that small brass atomizer contact completely out of the switch housing. I am assuming that is what happened in your case. So just be careful...

That little brass disc is the atomizer contact. It needs to be set in the switch. Push it into the plastic part of the switch opposite of the battery contact. Make sure the beveled side is facing out. Try that and it should work.

    RES Broken

The ceramic that the RES is made out of is pretty fragile. They are bound to break at some point. We are working on a new ceramic to make the RES's out of that should be much stronger. A tip for when you are unscrewing the RES is if it feels tight and hard to twist, screw it all the way back on...

I would definitely give it a shot. Most people really like 6v. To be honest I prefer 3.7v for most of the time, mainly because you get much better battery life. But at times there is nothing better than 6v, especially with these new attys.

    Ultramax corrosion/ rusting

Yeah I feel you. I have a hard time shooting detailed pics with just a regular old digital camera, even though it has 14 megapixels.

Yeah the easiest way to check which model you have is to pull out the battery. If it's a 14500 then its the Ultra and you will want to go with the IFR 14250s. If it is a 17670 then it's the UltraMax and you will want to go with the RCR123As.

We can only warranty what Apex Vapor will warranty us. I would suggest getting ahold of them and see what they can do about it. You can email them at info@apexvapor.com.

Yes your Ultra can do high voltage. All you need to do is order some of the Ultra IFR 14250 batteries. You can find them here: Ultra IFR 14250 LFP 3.2v Rechargeable Batteries-Pair: Your source for the best electronic cigarettes / personal vaporizers in the world.

    A Few Important Questions

I wouldn't recommend putting anything on the threads, once you have them broken in they will be super smooth without any vaseline or nolax, etc. As for the burr, it should smooth itself out just as the threads as a whole smooth out over time. Oh and by the way, doesn't matter where you got...

All high voltage kits are now coming with Joye 510 HV5 high resistance atomizers.

We now carry the Joye 510 HV5 4.2 ohm high resistance atomizers. All high voltage kits and dual voltage kits for the Ultra and UltraMax will now come with these instead of the standard resistance atomizers. There are many benefits to the high resistance attys when vaping at high voltage...

    alpha corrosion?

Have you tried cleaning it to see if it is dried liquid? Seeings how that is the inside of the RES where all the liquid is stored, it is very possible that it could be dried liquid and not corrosion.

    Nickel plating

Yeah I'm not sure why that happened. Getting it back will help a lot for us to try and figure out what exactly went wrong. Then maybe we can come up with something to help protect your next one, or maybe that one was just a defective battery sleeve.
