I havent heard of anybody doing this before but I have heard of people actually putting a small patch of grip tape on the battery sleeve for extra grip.

Just about any kind of grease/lube will work as long as you dont put too much on. You want to be careful not to put too much on or it will leak into the battery housing or worse into the RES. As long as you just apply a small amount and wipe out all the excess you should be good to go.
It just depends on the battery how high the volts will go. No 3.7v battery will go above 4.2v though no matter what charger you use. The higher the voltage coming off the charger should have little to no effect on how long the battery lasts.
