    My KFL seems to work most universally on a 0.9-1.1 ohm coil and cotton wick. Silica mutes the flavor a bit much for my tastes and I can DEFINITELY tell when I'm running it too hot. I would also recommend running the 28ga over the 30 for fewer wraps to get the same resistance.
