It's the right amount. Duty of 2.6% of the gross sale price, based on the exact Consumer Commodity Code. It's a crapshoot about getting charged for it, though. It really depends entirely on the customs agent assigned to the package.

Perhaps I didn't express myself adequately. I am not saying I'm not appreciative of the information. It is indeed an excellent explanation of the process. I am somewhat familiar with it, having both shipped and placed overseas commercial and personal orders before. I do not fault...
Not saying inTaste is responsible at all, just that by the time you add all of that up, it's just as easy (and the same price) to order already in country...
*Edit* There was a problem with inTaste in that the order got flagged by Customs because the commercial invoice did not adequately...

So I got a Customs bill from FedEx today for $12.36 for the inTaste order. $5.36 for Customs (2.6% duty) and $7.00 to FedEx for paying it in advance of delivery. Not to mention the $6.00 PayPal charges for currency conversion. May be the last overseas order I place for a while...
