    DNA 200 Watt

I don't know if SSV is even grade 2. According to Jaquith over on the evolv forums, he doesn't think it is grade 1-5 but some other grade. I've never owned any of the wire so I don't know.

Adjusting wattage in temperature control mode

The mod will limit the watts no matter what you have them set to. The more power you throw at the coil, the faster it will heat and the faster it will hit the temp limit. So, if you have it set to 200w and 450F, chances are that it will never even come close to 200w with an average build. I...

    Coil-less Atomizer - Video

All of the wire is inert in eliquid. All of the different wires form oxidation layers. SS, Ti, Ni, etc.. Kanthal is bad because of its extremely low TCR. It's outdated.

    Joyetech Cubis

I am a subtank mini guy too and I still think it edges out the Cubis in flavor. They are about the same in vapor production. However, the Cubis looks better, is easier to fill and DOESN'T LEAK. The leakage is the main downfall of the STM so it's nice to have a tank that simply cannot leak by...

TC beyond Ni200: Nickel Purity, Dicodes; Ti, SS, Resistherm NiFe30; Coefficient of Resistance

Ramp time will depend on A) the kind of metal and B) the size of the wire. Different metals (or alloys) have different resistivities (not to be confused with resistance), so you factor that in along with the diameter and length of the wire. The bigger the wire, the more power you need to heat...

    Coil-less Atomizer - Video

I don't believe Kanthal was chosen for any other reason than it is a widely available resistance wire. I don't think there was much science behind the decision.

    Coil-less Atomizer - Video

Well, we know it works as the inventor demonstrated it on a video. The question then becomes who is it for? I think it will be for people who are lazy and don't want to rebuild. I don't mind rebuilding, but in a way it is appealing to have a "coil" that will last years. I can also see it...

    Coil-less Atomizer - Video

A user on reddit believes it is a silicon nitrate heater. Like this. If you look at the pictures of the Altus, it looks a lot like this.

    OBS Crius RTA?

Dem post holes tho. Apparently they didn't learn anything from the Crius v1.

    Interesting Video on the Altus

There's a new tank called the Altus that is using a different type of heating element that supposedly never has to be changed (they call it an "advanced solid state heater"). You only have to rewick the cotton every so often, but the "coil" lasts indefinitely. A user on reddit is speculating...

TC beyond Ni200: Nickel Purity, Dicodes; Ti, SS, Resistherm NiFe30; Coefficient of Resistance

Only concern I have with 430 is how dark it becomes after heating. It looks almost like a rust color, but I don't see anything coming off on my paper towel. I do know it is less corrosion resistant than the nickel grades (304/316). And 430 has a problem with "embrittlement" at temps over 885F...

TC beyond Ni200: Nickel Purity, Dicodes; Ti, SS, Resistherm NiFe30; Coefficient of Resistance

For best TC accuracy try SS 430. However, I can only find it in 28 gauge (Unkamen).

TC beyond Ni200: Nickel Purity, Dicodes; Ti, SS, Resistherm NiFe30; Coefficient of Resistance

What TCR value are you using on your Cubis? I have one, slapped it on a DNA200 and couldn't get vapor production using SE's 316 curve. I had to manually change the TCR to .0012 to get it to perform properly.

Your first temp control device? Or just your first TCR device?

    DNA 200 Watt

Any idea what we can expect to see? I personally would like more TC options from the main menu so that we don't have to go into software every time.

SXmini Q Class Powered by YiHi SX450 chip

I agree that the quality of Lipos varies just like it does with 18650's. Evolv recommends the "Fullymax" brand which is what they used in their Beta testing. I am not a Lipo expert, but from my reading, it appears Fullymax is well respected in the RC car and drone world.

smy 60 tc mini not reaching temp with kanger ni200 in subtank mini

Don't know much about your mod, but does the vape feel cooler than it did on the old coils? In other words was 600F on the old coil hotter than you're getting now at 450F? If not, then this means something is funky with the resistance reading (with TC, it's all about the mod being able to read...

    Titanium wire, vaping and safety

I bought my 24 ga Ti wire from ebay. It is shiny and has a different finish from Unkamen's (which is acid washed). There's nothing wrong with Unkamen's wire but if you want to try a "shiny finish" you will need to go to Ebay. I looked up the seller I bought mine from, but apparently he/she is...

SXmini Q Class Powered by YiHi SX450 chip

The DNA board was not designed for 18650's. That was only added later by modders. For one thing, the board does not have reverse polarity protection built in (because it was designed for internal Lipos) so we get these ugly battery sled hacks like is done on the Reuleaux. And it's up to the...
