SXmini Q Class Powered by YiHi SX450 chip

Exactly. Mooch has made this clear numerous times in his posts when discussing "pulse ratings." As he says, there is no standard anywhere in the literature for a so-called "pulse rating." It can vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Look, I am not saying a veteran vaper who knows which...

Smok TFV4 Competitor - IJOY Reaper Plus Tank

Well, I am not a materials scientist and I really have no idea what fibers are safe. I am just speaking hypothetically. Remember asbestos is a natural mineral fiber and it causes cancer and lung disease. So, obviously, manufacturers would need to select such a fiber rather carefully.

Smok TFV4 Competitor - IJOY Reaper Plus Tank

Yes, I agree. I was thinking they were using some ceramic as the heating element itself. I have no problem with ceramic as a wick provided it is the right type of ceramic with the right physical properties. The only reason cotton is used is because A) it's cheap B) it's freely available and...

Smok TFV4 Competitor - IJOY Reaper Plus Tank

I see zero reason to use ceramics as coils. Of course, there are MANY different types of ceramics with many different chemical compositions, so the term "ceramic" really has no meaning. What is it about a metal wire and cotton that they feel needs to be improved upon? Is it health? I've seen...

SXmini Q Class Powered by YiHi SX450 chip

They better be releasing software like Evolv has done, otherwise I see zero reason to buy one of these. Yihi's prices are in line with Evolv's, so they need to deliver the same functionality if they want to compete with the DNA-200. And, I find it pretty offensive these companies are offering...

    Joyetech Cubis

Just got mine in the mail today as well. I am purely a TC vapor who likes moderate airflow (not cigarette tight, but not TFv4 or dripper wide open). I prefer the Subtank mini on the middle airflow setting. With that said here's my impressions: Pros: 1) Nice looking tank. I really like the...

    Joyetech Cubis

Got mine in today. The flavor is much better than I expected. The draw is about right -- it could be a little more open but I am typically a MTL guy anyway. Cons: Doesn't work with TC. Using a DNA200 and I have to set it to the max (600F) to get any vapor out of it. I have tried the TFR...

    Explain Temperature Control

I don't have much experience with the kanger prebuilt coils. I used them for about a day before I went to the RBA deck full time.

    Explain Temperature Control

I think there's something flaky with your subtank's connection to your mod. This would explain the readings being so much higher than what Kanger advertises. This, in turn, would explain why you have to vape it at such a different temperature than the Crown (because the temperature isn't...

    Max temperature for Ti wire

Whoever said you have to keep it at 350F is an idiot. What I think happened is people were talking about using Ti wire on Ni only mods. In order to do that you have to drop the temp down about 100°. But the IPV D2 handles Ti natively, so that doesn't apply. You can turn your temp up all the...

Silly Mental health question with regards to behavior.

Yes. I had been diagnosed with Bi-polar type I by one psychiatrist and had another shrink tell me a few years later he doesn't think that was accurate. A third doctor several years after that essentially said "the diagnosis doesn't matter as far as your treatment. As long as the meds work and...

    E-cigarettes safety questioned

As Farsilinos says, cell studies should mostly be ignored because there's so many variables involved and because cells aren't people. The real evidence will come from real life human longitudinal studies, but those take decades.

    On Temp Control

There's your problem. Ditch nickel and buy some 24 and 26 ga Titanium wire (Unkamen supplies for 26ga and jewelry suppliers on Ebay for 24 ga). If your mod supports it, buy some 316/317 stainless steel wire too.

Choices for good TC capable RTAs

What's better for flavor? I have a few RTA's. I recently got the Crius (one of the most hyped right now). I barely ever use it. It's not bad, but just not nearly as good as the STM. The flavor just isn't there. Back last year I bought a couple of orchids. Total crap. Utter garbage (they...

First titanium build please give some advice :)

I use STM's too. With 24 gauge, try a 2.5mm bit with 6 wraps slightly spaced. Should come out to around 1.8-1.9Ω. I like mine between 450-470F.

    Vaporflask partnered with Wismec/Joyetech

Just want to be a bit pedantic with this post. There is no company named "Vaporflask." They are called "Vape Forward." Yes, it's a dumb name and reminds me too much of people who give their old gear to smokers (vape it forward), but that is what they are called. Vaporflask is one of their...

Choices for good TC capable RTAs

Haven't had any issue with mine, though I do have a V3. It's an OK tank that I use whenever I want to blow a cloud, but I still hit my subtank minis more often. I still haven't found a tank with better flavor than the good old STM's. Many have tried, many have failed.
