While I agree with your premise that nasties can form even at "normal" temps, I don't think we have good data as to what those temps actually are. I heard John (lead engineer at Evolv) say on the forums that the breakdown begins between 430-450F. Where he got those numbers, I don't know. All... -
Choices for good TC capable RTAs
If you're using kayfuns, don't buy a KF4 as they have horrible conductivity for TC. I, personally, use mostly Subtank Minis as my go to tanks and they perform solidly in TC mode (just make sure you screw the RBA deck all the way down and make sure all is snug). I'm still looking for a better... -

Yes when the mod shows the message temperature-controlled that means that it is regulating the temperature. It is not an error it is simply letting you know what it's doing. If you're finding that your Vape is diminishing overtime that means that your wicking is not keeping up. -

Yikes. I don't even know what to say about the guy who vapes nickel in power mode. As for your question, it's not the resistance of the coil that matters, but the temperature. After all, power (which generates heat) is what lights our coils and excessive heat is what we want to avoid...- BigEgo

The best 200W Mod....
If you want a 200W mod, the only way to go is the DNA-200. If you can't afford that, then I wouldn't expect to get 200 watts out of a dual 18650 mod no matter what the manufacturer advertises. Two 18650 batteries just cannot safely push that kind of power. You could get the poor man's...- BigEgo

The heat capacity on that build is 205 mJ/K with a 500 mm² surface area. In other words, you need a power plant behind you to light that coil. Most dual coils I build have about half that coil mass. As others said try a 8-10 wrap coil and go buy some 28 gauge wire. -

Several good places for Grade 1 Ti. Your best option is to buy from jewelry suppliers since they have no reason to price gouge. Unkamen Supplies has it in all gauges. $10 per spool (26 gauge is 35 ft). If you need 26 or higher they are usually the best (and only) option. Rio Grande has it... -

316 has molybdeum added for increased corrosion resistance (typically for marine environments as you said). Grade 317 has even more molybdenum than 316, which is the only difference. But this makes 317 the best general purpose SS overall for corrosion. The "L" stands for "low carbon."... -

I have some 430 and some 317L on order from Unkamen right now. I'm anxious to experiment. As for "tasting the metal" I do indeed with titanium if I am getting close to a dry hit. Just a hint of that metal aroma. I have not experimented with SS yet so I can't say on that. Also, what happened... -
