RTA/RBA options for newbie builds
The Subtank Mini without a doubt. It's the easiest deck to build on -- much easier than a Kayfun. But it's single coil. For dual coils, any deck with velocity style posts (they make things so much easier). -

26 GA. Typically you want as thick of a wire as you can fit into the deck while still getting in the resistance range you want. A 26GA wire around a 2.5mm bit with 8 wraps will give you about 1Ω. That should fit in the STM deck. -

It's different because just a few watts can heat up an atty to extreme temps. It doesn't take much. TC is especially helpful in a tank where you don't have total control over the juice flow/wicking. It's good for drippers if you forget to drip (no dry hits). However, TC is about so much... -

And apparently with the v3 firmware update, it is extremely accurate on Ti and SS modes. I currently use a Koopor Mini and an IPV D2 as my backup devices (recently got a DNA200), but I might just have to buy the VTC Mini when I scrounge up some spare cash. -

I don't own an Evic. I was merely going off the thermocouple test results that various reviewers have done. The VTC Mini is always well off the correct temperature. It might be possible to offset the TCR, but you'd need a thermocouple to do your own testing to get it right. I mean it does... -

Yes, that's also a big issue. I was talking more about how their Ti is not really Grade 1. They are selling Grade 2 Ti (which is cheaper to make) at a dollar per foot, when you can buy Grade 1 for $.30 per foot. I believe now they admit it is not Grade 1, but they wont admit it is merely Grade... -
