    What happened to Provape?

Your coils get hotter than you might think, even at low power. Of course, if your wicks are perfectly saturated at all times (wont happen in a tank) and the volume of your draw is the same at all times (wont happen), then I suppose one could get the "perfect vape." Otherwise, your coils will...

    Yeah, ok buddy.

    What happened to Provape?

When did Provape implement temperature limiting?

    IPV D2 announced.

I don't mind the real-time resistance reading, but I HATE not being able to see what my locked resistance is without having to set it again.

    What happened to Provape?

"Gimmick?" If avoiding dry hits and reducing my exposure to carcinogens is a "gimmick" then I guess I am prone to fall for gimmicks. You go ahead and vape at your 600F with tons of aldehydes and I'll vape at my 450F.

    What happened to Provape?

Screen issues were a black eye, I agree. But the TC worked perfectly from day one. Yes, people .....ed about having to build with annealed nickel 200 and some atomizers had too much static resistance, but it doesn't mean the tech didn't work. BTW, the "nickel is too soft" build problem is...

TC beyond Ni200: Nickel Purity, Dicodes; Ti, SS, Resistherm NiFe30; Coefficient of Resistance

Here is an excellent technical document about RTD's that is very applicable for our purposes. I especially recommend reading the part about how TCR's can be generated (Callender-Van Dusen equation) starting on page 7. He goes into detail about TCR, the accuracy of different metal elements such...

    What happened to Provape?

Because Evolv's tech is way ahead of Provapes in the circuit board design category. Indeed, it's ahead of anyone else, really. Provape just doesn't have a good handle on where the market is -- people want more than 20 watts in power mode. I am sure Provape realizes this, but perhaps they...

    Vaping using Stainless Steel Wire

Nickel is not a resistance wire either -- in fact, it is often labeled "non-resistance wire" -- yet we still use it in vaping. Why? Because of its high temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR). This means slight resistance changes correlate to temperature fluctuations which are highly...

    Vaping using Stainless Steel Wire

Just alcohol and paper towels. Just to remove any machine oil, graphite, or other gunk that comes from manufacturing. Also, ignore the other guy. SS is fine for vaping, but it's probably more suited for TC devices.

    temperature control

Vaping on titanium wire in my subtank mini right now. Nice vape at 450F. It's a nice vape too. I prefer Ti because it's a bit easier to use lower gauges and it isn't a toxic heavy metal. But, I doubt there is much risk from vaping nickel unless you have a severe allergy. No it's not...

    Vaping using Stainless Steel Wire

If it is real SS (like 304 and 316, etc) it is fine for vaping. Just be sure to clean it first.

    What happened to Provape?

I suspect they will jump on the Evolv train and simply use Evolv's boards in the future. I could be wrong, but that makes the most sense. I wonder why this didn't happen a long time ago, tbh.

    eVic-VT mini?

The "Dry Coil" message only happens, in my experience, when the coil is actually dry. The Yihi devices are somehow determining that the coil is dry. I can turn the temperature all the way down to 400 and max the Joules at 50 and fire it all day long. As long as the coil is wet, I never get a...

    eVic-VT mini?

I think it has something to do with how fast the resistance jumps. If it's too quick, the device assumes the coil is dry and thus scales back the power. It's easy to see that Yihi boards are doing this because you can't put a dry coil on there, set it to 600F and have it fire at that temp...

    eVic-VT mini?

I watched his video and I don't think he performed the temperature test accurately. These boards have a feature where they wont fire a dry coil (or at least not reach full temp). For this board you would need to test with a wet wick.

TC beyond Ni200: Nickel Purity, Dicodes; Ti, SS, Resistherm NiFe30; Coefficient of Resistance

It's not as simple as that. As druckle said, it depends on the atomic structure. A materials science professor at UC Berkeley explains here. Basically the metal composition of the alloy isn't the only thing that matters. Deformation or bending of the metal can cause it to gain magnetism when...
