    Cancer is Bad

That's 4 volts not 4 watts. These studies used a cheap ego-style clearo and cranked it up between 4 and 4.8v. No one vapes that. Essentially they burned the wick and the juice. Temperature control in our mods completely solves this issue.

    Eleaf iStick 100w TC

After looking at that page, it looks like a really nice budget TC device. Has upgradeable firmware and adjustable TCR (two musts for me). If it is priced anything like the original iStick 100w, I will have to pick one up.

    Eleaf iStick 100w TC

Interesting battery door design. I like the idea of putting one battery on each side. But I am confused. Isn't there already an iStick 100w out there? Will this one have a different name?

    The Ultimate TCR List

Depends on the metal being tested. Some have more linear temperature/resistance curves than others. Probably wouldn't be that far off, but I can't say specifically. Ni-200 is pretty linear, iirc. The TCR depends on the temperature. There is no one TCR for any given temperature for most...

    Multiple 18650 mod battery question.

I see your agni, and I'll bring my Janus. As to your question, depends on if the mod is series or parallel.

    The Ultimate TCR List

John (engineer at Evolv) provided instructions on a quick and dirty method of finding the TCR of wire at home. I will quote him: There's a better way to do this. Get a decent thermometer or thermocouple, a glass flask, a heater (or do it on the stove) and some oil. Run wires extension...

    The Ultimate TCR List

Steam-engine's value for Ti (.00366) is the most reliable value. They got their data from a 1950's Ames laboratory report prepared by Iowa State University in conjunction with the Atomic Energy Commission. In this report, the researchers used three different specimens of Ti of varying purity...

    DNA 200 Watt

I use a cigarette lighter as the heat source to rewrap. Works fine as long as you're careful to keep moving the flame.

    to sub ohm or not?

Still a lot of people here don't get it. Ohms don't mean anything on a regulated mod, especially when using wire other than Kanthal.

    to sub ohm or not?

It makes no difference at all whether you sub-ohm or not. I see no advantage to doing it on regulated mods, but it can be necessary on mechs.

That's one ohm, not .1 ohms.

    On Temp Control

I doubt it happens. People are concerned about "nickel carbonyl" but it simply cannot form. Wikipedia says this: "Nickel carbonyl may be fatal if absorbed through the skin or more likely, inhaled due to its high volatility. Its LC50 for a 30-minute exposure has been estimated at 3 ppm, and...

    Joyetech Cubis

I have found my Cubis coils gurgle a LOT. To the point where they aren't usable. Maybe it's bad luck, I don't know. I guess I'll buy a pack and see if those are any better.

    On Temp Control

Buy this nickel wire. I recommend 28 gauge for its higher resistance. You also want it to be tempered since it's MUCH easier to work with (about the same as kanthal). EDIT: Just now realized I previously responded in this thread for OP to ditch nickel and go with Ti. However, I think it's...

Altus Tank by GUO no coil tank

It's because of the heating element being used. They aren't that cheap to produce. There's markup, sure, but if he sold it for $20-$40, he would lose money.

    DNA 200 Watt

Yeah a lot of manufacturers are lazy and do not enter the right value. This goes for the battery, the case, and the atomizer. I own the VT200 with the SS 510. Most everyone on the Evolv forums say there's tests (with pure copper) at .004 to .005, so I set mine at .0045. Also, there is a guy...

    DNA 200 Watt

You either have a defective unit or a build with loose connections. I was building some today and noticed both my 317L and Ti builds were not at the proper resistance. I checked my connections and they were tight. So I opened up atomizer analyser and wiggled the coils. Sure enough the...

TC beyond Ni200: Nickel Purity, Dicodes; Ti, SS, Resistherm NiFe30; Coefficient of Resistance

Most likely this document. It seems this is where most of the SS TCR data originated.

TC beyond Ni200: Nickel Purity, Dicodes; Ti, SS, Resistherm NiFe30; Coefficient of Resistance

According to the paper I linked it is slightly wrong. 316L is .000879 and 317L is .00094. And the UD wire should be legit from what I can tell.
