If by "brilliant" you actually meant scandalous and treacherous, you nailed it, :?)
I call this the age of Yellow Marketing. (The Journalism is unadulterated sewage).
I keep an eye on them when they go into the charger. If they are within a few 100`s of a volt of each other, I don`t worry about it (Ex: 3.42 vs. 3.40). If one shows a uncharacteristic loss over the other (ex: 3.41 vs. 3.55), they be getting divorced and separated into single battery mods at...
I used to feel the same way in the beginning. I was kinda a hard case about it (Special, LOL?), but Iv developed a more live and let live philosophy.
I kinda look at it like chewing gum now. Some people will chew nic gum, and if it works for them more power to them. Some people will chew gum...

MUJI pad are my favorite. I started out with a Kanger protank coils and cotton balls, and they worked OK for those tiny 1/16 inch wicks. But once I started in on RDA`s, the cotton balls just did`nt have the consistency of density that was required for the hotter vape, and sometimes they needed...

Donald De Carl summed this up...
Much of it depends on the thickness or thinness of the wire gauge you prefer. A thinner wire will burn out faster then a thicker wire. Iv got 22 gauge coils that are running fine for 3 years +, but on the odd balls that run 28 gauge, they might last 6 months and burn through.
Quality of build...
I got this one incoming>>>>>>>>>>.
I guess 3-F heard my plea and has put in a whole bunch of 26650 mods, from novelty to stout like this one. Some good choices now. :?)
