We're trying to show you the seriousness of what you're doing wrong. We're trying to educate you and prevent you from getting hurt. You can stomp your feet and go off pouting if you want. It's up to you.... Just don't come crying when you have a serious accident.
Efest 1100 mah??
If so, they are 8.8 amp batteries. You shouldn't build anything that exceeds 7 amps
Edited to add... learn ohms-law, get an ohm meter and you'll know what you need to do to be safe.
Yeah...... The burnt taste had nothing to do with your battery. It was the resistance of the coil. By adding a wrap to the coil you raised the resistance, thus reducing the wattage being put through it. Do you even know the resistance of your coils?? Do you know why it's important to...
Congrats on your new Kayfun!!
I have 4 kayfun lite + RTA's and all of them are running 1.5 ohm coils that are at least two months old. I change the wicks weekly... most of the time.
Divide the voltage by the resistance, that will give you the amps, multiply the amps by the volts and that will give you watts.
Soooo...
your voltage is 4.2 volts / 1.5 ohms = 2.8 amps
2.8 x 4.2 = 11.76 watts
Please read and UNDERSTAND everything Susan posted for you.
After that - to answer your question.... " How low can I go is my question, I guess?"....
.23 ohm - that's 18 amps and 75.6 watts - 90% of the max that the battery can handle.
I don't exceed 75% of the batteries max, so using your...
With a mechanical mod (not regulated) It's all dependent on the batteries limitations, honestly.
The best batteries available today are 30 amp batteries. So in my opinion you shouldn't exceed 90% of the batteries capabilities. That would put you at 27 amps and 113 watts with a .15 ohm build...
Kayfun tanks are top of the line. Period.
Hassle? I don't think so. All of the coils in my kayfuns are going on two months old. I change out the wicks weekly or so
Factory tanks with factory coils can't handle that kind of power.
The high wattage devices are for rebuildable atty's. AND it's not really about the coil itself. It's about the wick. Factory coils have small wicks. Rebuildable RDA's and RTA's have huge wicks in comparison.
See... that wick...
Yes, they work on the same principle, as in they have a tank that holds juice and a coil that vaporizes the juice BUT you have to build the coil and wick it.
A Kayfun is a great RTA. I love all of mine BUT first things first if you're wanting to get into rebuilding.
Learn ohms-law and how it relates to vaping. Learn battery safety. Watch plenty of youtube vids on wrapping coils
