LOL... it's ok.
Welcome to ECF.. BTW
Ever sense getting my Reo I haven't been able to use anything else. The Reo Grand kinda ruined everything else for me.
I'm not familiar with this device but, you are correct.
If the device has a max voltage output of 12.6 then you would have to build below .88 ohm to achieve the 180 watts.
.... "Whats the best build that would let me get to 100Watts, but is also safe."....
.44 ohm
Edited to add.... the is no need to sub-ohm on this device though... look....
.44 ohm build
Voltage (E) = 6.6
Amps (I) = 15
Ohm (R) = .44
Watts (p) = 100
1.5 ohm build
E = 12.2
I = 8.1
R = 1.5
P =...
To answer your original question... not it's not safe.
On another note... There is no need to sub-ohm on this device. You will get a better vape and your device will perform better if you build around 1.2 - 1.5 ohms. The lower the resistance, the less voltage required to meet the wattage...
OP didn't specify which purple efest he has. I'm just saying be safe.
Even if it is the vtc4 re-wrap you shouldn't build below .18 ohms, that's 22.5 amps and 94.5 watts. Still giving you that same 25% headroom.
That purple efest IS NOT a 35 amp battery it's a 20 amp battery so with a .2 ohm build you're at 21 amps, 88.2 watts. .2 ohms is exceeding the max output. The lowest you should build using that battery is .28 ohm, that's 15 amps, 63 watts. That leaves you 25% headroom for errors.
First things first...
Know and understand ohms law and how it relates to vaping.
Know and understand battery safety. Your purple efest is only a 20a battery by the way.
Get yourself a digital multimeter to test the resistance of your builds and for shorts.
here is a great resource for wrapping...
