    One thought on my mind after catching up on this thread.... Why clean those Vivi heads??? It's too much hassle. It costs less than 16¢ to rebuild and only a minute and a half of your time (once you get the hang of it) and if that isn't your thing, buy them in bulk. Nothing tastes better than...

    What is your take on that little mesh shroud over the stock coils? I remember you and Bronze saying you throw them away? I have tried it with and without and can't really see the purpose in it. The only shorting issues I have ever had was when I accidentally cross the kanthal UNDER the coil.

    The blow gun dart is a small, yet supremely stiff wire. I wrap my wire around the wick and dart to get a better tightness and consistency of my wraps, then simply pull out the dart. There are thousands of ways and everyone is different, but this way works flawlessly for me.

    You can do that here as well. I have done that before, but for now, the only food bank I am depositing into is my deep freeze. If we all tag out, I will donate for sure. We can only eat about 4 deer a year. At the local processor, you can allot a certain amount if you want.

    In my Novas, I use 32awg kanthal on a 3mm wick. I wrap 8 times to get 2.3-2.4Ω every time. My failure rate is less than 0.5%.

    Never tried Nichrome wire. But I can rebuild a coil like a boss! HEAVILY stocked on supplies via ebay. No offense, but if you are buying your recoiling supplies (wick and wire) anywhere else, you are getting ripped off.
