No need to drill!
Just take a 1/16 bit and twist and grind it into the tiny airhole until it slides all the way in....expand from there, that is how I did mine.
Started with 1/16, still hated it, went to 5/64...meh, stayed at 3/32. :)
Get an LP Grand and an LP RM2, you'll be just fine.

This sounds like a good time to pay it forward....I have an OG anondized red Reo mini. It needs to be sent to Rob to to be repaired, it's yours if you want it. :)
Same problem here, insulator got cracked and I leaked inside behind the delrin insert.....had to send it to Rob for repair, but had it milled to an LP as well. :)
The button getting hot is a sign of a short and or something isn't right.
You should take the entire switch apart and clean it with 91% isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip, do all the threads etc.
Washing it in hot soapy water won't hurt either.
