If you post a pic of your coils and some more info such as wire thickness, coil diameter and ohm load, someone could get you some relevant advice. Maybe too much cotton in the coil, that's one way to get dry hits.
Yea, what Niten13 said.
News to me! Thanks for the tip. Though I've only been doing spaced coils on ni200 builds because I just can't seem to make a contact coil work right for temp control.
The subtank pin is not spring loaded. The pin is held in with some sort of rubber insulator. It does have some give but if you push in on it, it will squish the pin of the coil head too. It causes the resistance to jump around if you push it in too far. Ive also noticed this with evod heads.

Found this link on a YouTube advocacy video. I searched for it...
I feel this way.... If there was no e cigs then you might have tried smoking instead. I think you did what you want and there is nothing wrong with that. I'm confused by the stance some take against never-smoker vapers because why did we pick up our first cigarette? Because we wanted to, or...
Your previous battery most likely ran your evods as good as an evod can vape. If you some better flavor but still want the mouth-to-lung, cigarette style of puff I think the general consensus is the aspire nautilus line is king. If you want bigger clouds AND flavor, you could check out many of...
I agree here. If you don't want to mess with rewicking or rebuilding those heads, the aspire bvc coils are awesome out of the package. Also if you don't wanna pay around 30 for the nautilus mini they make a little clearo called the K1 glassomizer. About like a mini protank but with little aspire...
Oh and about the vapor hanging around... Yea vapor hangs around for a little bit, that doesn't mean it's smoke. You will definitely know when something is scorching.
I started on evods and my wife still uses them (and of course I'm still responsible for rebuilding heads). The thing with stock evod coils is they don't wick fast enough for chain vaping. It is very easy to get dry hits after 5 or 6 back to back puffs.
Some things you want to consider is...
Looks like you need to go with a larger inner diameter for your wraps. Also personally I would use 24 gauge for that kind of power.
The larger diameter will let you get some more wick in there so you won't vape it dry as fast.
Don't dry burn those coils with a wick in it. Even though silica won't burn it can and will create some nastiness in the wick which can't be washed out. Put in a new coil and make sure it has juice in the wick before firing it.
