    Mine got gunky as well, I got a good nail brush, soaked in dishsoap and scrubbed scrubbed scrubbed. Steel wool will work better. I also soaked mine in vodka for a bit just to get all the contaminants off as well.

    V2 is still way better I think, I just like having my V1 handy with carts for a load and go situation. Which is why I want more. That and I have money in my paypal account that I can't buy vaping stuff with from websites... so frustrating.

    I don't know much (anything) about 510 batteries, but aren't LR atties supposed to do bad things to batteries under 400mAh? I thought I'd read that as a warning on one of the vendors websites, if anyone can confirm that would be awesome...and Ill see if I can find it.

    I think the spring (for me anyhow) lets you feel the resistance when tightening the GGTS around the battery. Otherwise, overtightening it may damage the battery. Just a guess.
