I use those cartos too mate, gives me a great vape everytime (I use the 5ml version).
1.7 ohm?..., you might want to go up around 2.0 to 2.5 ohm cartos.
Have a gander at this chart as a reference and see how you go.
I have both eVic and VAMO.
VAMO is cheap, but consider factoring in the extra cost of batteries and charger, they're a good unit to have a play with and do the job well.
The eVic by comparison comes ready to go straight out the box.
Comparing the two you could say the VAMO is a solid little...

I took a look at the Joyetech website... it can be hooked up to your computer using their MVR ("My Vapor Record") programme.
This can record you're vaping with 'puff recording'...etc...:blink:
