The part number for the TI booster is PTN04050. I have not played with them in 6 months. I cannot remember the part number. There will be a sample circuit diagram on the spec sheet.

These are the right angle version. Only difference is the placement of the leads which I found easier when working with them.
Here is a pic of what it will resemble when you are finished. It is doable so you are not setting yourself up to fail. The pictured mod has a touch switch but you could just as easily use the tactile switch.
After thinking about this a bit....I think you should mount a small heat sink fan. The only step up from there would a refrigerant cooling system, but that may be going too far. :)
I find it amazing that touch switches are still being discussed. In my experimentg I found that they work just fine if your skin is moist. The last two pics that WillyB post will work.
Pretty much the same circuit I used except I added the USB charging to the circuit.

Pre-ordered The 3G version on Friday. The new OS later this year will allow multitasking.
